A vehicle for venting on philosophy, religion, and the general state of things. Proprietor: C. W. Powell

A very merry Christmas to you all. The coming of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus, changed the world forever. He is patient and long-suffering with mankind and calls men to faith and love, but that is no comfort for those who remain without repentance and faith.

As Mary said in Luke 1:49-53:
For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2005: "Politically, the left is making a big mistake in focusing on the issue. Bush is well-served by bringing the terrorism debate home. Isolationists -- about 40 percent of the nation, divided between the two parties -- will not back him on a war in Iraq but sure will support him against attempts to handcuff homeland security in the name of privacy or civil liberties. By raising this issue -- and the concomitant issue of the Patriot Act renewal -- the Democrats are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."

What Is Science, Then?

So the judge has it figured out. Intelligent Design is not science, but is an attempt to introduce religion into the public schools.

My oldest son was like that with his brothers for a time when he was small and they were smaller. He always set the rules for the games they played and so he always won. Wiorked every time. Humanism can keep religion at bay by defining it out of the game.

A smart aleck little kid might ask, "But isn't all that stupid stuff about monkeys becoming men taught for the purpose of keeping religion out of the schools?" Tell the kid to shut up; he might rock the boat and some high priced people might lose their jobs. They know they are lying to the kids and that evolution is a farce, but, hey, lying pays good, and people keep their license to fornicate, sodomize, and collect their paper dollies. The carousel will go on forever, won't it?

“11 Yea, [they are] greedy dogs [which] can never have enough, and they [are] shepherds [that] cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12 Come ye, [say they], I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, [and] much more abundant.” (Isaiah 56:11-12 AV)
RealClearPolitics - Commentary - Have The Democrats Walked Into a Trap......Again? by John McIntyre: "With their publicly defeatist language, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean reinforce these 'soft on security' steroretypes, a weakness that more sober-minded Democrats have been trying to mitigate since the late 60's and 70's. Unfortunately, this mentality dominates the Democrats' political base and more accurately represents where the heart and soul of the modern Democratic party lies than the very tiny sliver of Joe Lieberman Democrats. The Party of FDR, Truman and John Kennedy -- at least on foreign policy -- is clearly no more. "
