Deadly Intent: Ann Coulter, Word Warrior - New York Times: "Without the total package, Ms. Coulter would be just one more nut living in Mom's basement. You can accuse her of cynicism all you want, but the fact that she is one of the leading political writers of our age says something about the rest of us."
==========
First the necessary disclaimer. I am not a great fan of Ann Coulter, but I do enjoy her giving the dickens to the New York Time, one of the few things I like less than Ann Coulter.

The quote above is the reason I desest the NYT. Other than the facts that they make up the News, use vicious words to skewer their enemies even better than Ann Coulter does, and have a treasonal rapport with the nations enemies, I detest their patronizing attitude toward the "rest of us." Let's see now, Maureen Dowd is a "leading political writer" loved by the NYT, and is even more vicious than Ann Coulter is. Does that say something about the "rest of us," Madame NYT?

Maybe we will get somewhere in civilizing the political dialogue in this country, when the NYT and others of the elite media get off their high horses and quit dissing the "rest of us."

On the other hand, I suspect that the Old Grey Lady's real complaint is that they are losing subscribers, reputation for integrity, and market position. Not being the only game in town anymore because of radio and the digital media, hit pieces like this one on Ann Coulter may just be part of the dying spasms of the old order.
