The New Republic Online: Past Imperfect: "There's a grain of truth here: Kerry doesn't have any brilliant ideas for saving Iraq. But there's an even greater irony: The reason he doesn't is because the Bush administration has dug such a deep hole that, at this point, even Bismarck, Clausewitz, and Sun Tzu couldn't produce a four-point plan to turn Iraq into a beacon for the Middle East."
-----------
Isn't this delicious? Old Dumb Dubya is such a goof that even a man as smart as Kerry is controlled by him. I guess the left is really intellectually bankrupt when Republicans are the cause of leftist vacuity. Translation: 'I'm dumb because you are dumber.' or 'This dumb Christian from Texas stole the election in 2000, and he outwitted all the really bright French and all the really bright thugs in the UN, and has left us without intellectual resources. Can you imagine anyone as stupid as this?"

DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2004: "French President Jacques Chirac warned Thursday of a 'catastrophe' for global diversity if the United States' cultural hegemony goes unchallenged.

"Speaking at a French cultural center in Hanoi ahead of Friday's opening of a summit of European and Asian leaders, Chirac said France was right to stand up for cultural and linguistic diversity.

"The outspoken French president warned that the world's different cultures could be 'choked' by US values."
----------------
We probably ought to capture a few French to keep in museums, so that their decadent culture can be preserved and studied for the benefit of future generations.
My Way - News: "UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The Central Intelligence Agency has published hundreds of names of people, firms, political parties and government officials Saddam Hussein purportedly tried to buy off to get U.N. sanctions lifted.

"At the same time, Saddam and his government managed to amass some $11 billion through shadowy deals to circumvent the sanctions, first imposed in 1990 and lifted after the U.S.-led invasion a year ago, said the report, released on Wednesday.

"The report was part of a 1,200-page survey for the CIA by Charles Duelfer, a former U.N. weapons inspector, who concluded Iraq had no stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons or a nuclear arms program before the U.S. invasion last year.

"It was published on the CIA's Website: www.cia.gov."
==============
There more than way to pass the "Global Test."
Chirac calls for lifting arms ban on China - (United Press International): "French President Jacques Chirac is calling on the European Union to lift a long-standing arms embargo against China. "
==========
Wonder how much that cost the Chinese?
GOP Power Plan (washingtonpost.com): "If Sept. 11 had never happened -- if debate about domestic policy had not been drowned out by the roar of war -- the potential domestic ramifications of this election would give it unusual nation-shaping power. To understand why is to understand some of the Democratic rage about the specter of a second term for George W. Bush. "
==============
If you only read one article, read this one. It shows clearly what is at stake in this election, the recovery of liberty in America as well as in Iraq. The Democrats know this well, and are terrorized over another Bush term. This is the most important election in America since the New Deal years. Ol' Dumb Dubya might just pull it off; if he does, he deseves a fifth visage on Rushmore.
SignOnSanDiego.com > In Iraq -- S.D. school crisis plan is found on disk in Iraq: "A man arrested by U.S. authorities in Iraq had a computer disk in his possession containing a public report downloaded from a U.S. Department of Education Web site on crisis planning in school districts, including San Diego Unified.

"The man was described as an Iraqi national with connections to terrorism and the insurgency that is fighting U.S. forces in Iraq. Officials in San Diego said the man's intentions were unknown. "
===============
Must we wait until one of our schools is attacked; or five or six of them on the same day? Do we go whining to the UN, who has done such a good job of stopping massacres in the world in the last twenty years? Get real.
My Way News: "'Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too,' Democratic Party chairman Terry McAuliffe told reporters in a conference call."
------------------
But, but, but, Terry. Bill Clinton? But that was then, wasn't it?
Saddam paid off French leaders - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - October 07, 2004: "Saddam Hussein used a U.N. humanitarian program to pay $1.78 billion to French government officials, businessmen and journalists in a bid to have sanctions removed and U.S. policies opposed, according to a CIA report made public yesterday. "
=================
But we must have their support [Global Test] to defend ourselves?
My Way News: "Sen. John Edwards, answering President Bush's blistering criticism of Democrat John Kerry, contended Wednesday that the Republican was 'completely out of touch with reality' about the Iraq war and the economy."
===========
So now he is going to use junk psychiatry to try to get elected president. Junk science served him well as a trial lawyer.
My Way News: "Duelfer's report said what ambitions Saddam harbored for such weapons were secondary to his goal of evading those sanctions, and he wanted them primarily not to attack the United States or to provide them to terrorists, but to oppose his older enemies, Iran and Israel."
-------------
Oh, I get it. We just let Saddam nuke Iran and Israel. Hmmm. I wonder why Iran wants them. They just want to fry Israel, I bet, and would never give them to the likes of Osama. Of course not.
BuzzCharts: Jerry Bowyer on John Kerry, John Edwards, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, and Halliburton on NRO Financial: "So, if you bought the John Edwards view of the world, then three and a half years ago when Bush won the election, wouldn't you have also bought Halliburton stock? If you did, you got hurt. Since Bush's inauguration, Halliburton's shares have fallen 11 percent. To put things in perspective, other oil-related industries have risen roughly 36 percent in this time.
In other words, not only has the Bush-Cheney administration failed to make the owners of Halliburton richer, it has instead made them poorer. And they are significantly worse off than the owners of other oil-related companies who are doing well. "
==========
Read the article if you want to know who is lying.
Radio Blogger: "The U.N. charter authorizes the use of military force by member nations acting in 'self-defense if an armed attack occurs' or when approved by the Security Council. "
------------
Hitler and the Nazis were not taken seriously until people like Churchill and FDR realized that words meant something and that Hitler and his cronies WERE saying what they meant.

Ronald Reagan took the USSR seriously, called them an evil empire, and brought them down.

It is time to take the Islamic terrorist seriously. They mean nothing less than the complete destruction of the West and the establishment of an Islamic world government. They say it, and we should respect their words.

We should also realize what it is that the UN test is for war. "You can only respond if you are attacked."

Kerry has endorsed this position: "Let there be no mistake: I will never hesitate to use force when it is required. Any attack will be met with a swift and certain response."

This was the position of Jane Fonda and rest of the Anti-Vietnam crowd: Communism has not attacked the US, and it is immoral for us to be fighting them in Viet Nam, Korea, or anywhere else. We can only punch back.

The Bush doctrine is, They have said they are going to get us. They have followed through on the USS Cole, at 9/11 and other places around the world. We respect them enough to take them at their word. Don't say it if you don't mean it. We will take you at your word.

People who have no respect for words are always surprised by their enemies. Jimmy Carter was surprised at the USSR's invastion of Afghanistan. He shouldn't have been.

Radioblogger again: "Also, doesn't this throw the 9/11 Commission right out the window? They were trying like crazy, with the Doomocrat spinmeisters carrying the water, to go after Bush for not acting soon enough to prevent 9/11 from happening? Give them their argument for a second. Let's say Bush did know it was coming. According to the UN, and Kerry for that matter, we aren't allowed to react until they hit first. That's the charter. Black and white. Kerry in his acceptance speech adopted that charter as his policy."

Excite News: "WASHINGTON (AP) - Contradicting the main argument for a war that has cost more than 1,000 American lives, the top U.S. arms inspector reported Wednesday that he found no evidence that Iraq produced any weapons of mass destruction after 1991. The report also says Saddam Hussein's weapons capability weakened during a dozen years of U.N. sanctions before the U.S. invasion last year.

"Contrary to prewar statements by President Bush and top administration officials, Saddam did not have chemical and biological stockpiles when the war began and his nuclear capabilities were deteriorating, not advancing, according to the report by Charles Duelfer, head of the Iraq Survey Group."
=============
Saddam's blood is on his own head. He could very easily have averted the whole thing by conforming to the UN resolutions. If a man over and over threatens the police, and then draws a fake gun, he dies by his own hand. So it is with Iraq. Saddam brought it on himself. But we may still find the weapons in Syrai, Iran, or in Miami, God forbid.
But, but, but.... Why does the United States think that it is ok for us to have nuclear weapons, and wrong for Iran and North Korea to have such weapons?

Answer: Why do we put Charles Manson in jail and allow Bud Powell to go free? Because Charles Manson has shown that he has no self-restraint and morality to be trusted with liberty. America did not object to England or even France becoming nuclear powers, but it is a problem when China and North Korea, because they do not treat their own people as the images of God, so how can they be expected to treat other nations with respect.

We turned our eyes away when Pakistan because nuclear, as a reward for their help against the old USSR's aggression in Afghanistan. We may pay for that dearly some day. On the other hand, the USSR was a present, known evil empire, and it was not foreseen that radical Islam would become such a threat.

We must not succumb to moral equivalency. Any one who would equate the policies of the United States, imperfect though they be, with the declared policies of nations like North Korea, Iran, and Saddam's Iraq simply has lost the ability to differentiate between right and wrong. Bud Powell is a sinner; Charles Manson is a sinner. The first does not belong in jail; the latter one certainly does.

George W. Bush is not Adolph Hitler. Anyone who says so is a fool and a liar.
Dick Cheney misspoke last night. To check the facts on Halliburton, go to factcheck.org.

The site that Cheney gave is a George Soros site that is a propaganda site that this billionaire fascist [I chose the word carefully] uses to try to buy an election and transform America into a pleasure ground for the rich elite.

Terence Jeffrey: True words from John Kerry: "After his largely stylistic victory in the presidential debate on foreign policy, John Kerry inadvertently reminded Americans of an imminent domestic threat to our system of government.

"According to the Chicago Tribune, a pumped up Kerry told a post-debate rally in Miami: 'I'll tell you, if you just needed three words of motivation, you want 'em? The -- Supreme -- Court.'

"Truer words were never spoken. The issue of the Supreme Court ought to drive everyone who believes this nation ought to be governed by the Constitution as it was written and ratified to go to the polls Nov. 2 -- to defeat John Kerry."
================
Kerry would be a disaster to the United States. He would put our defense of the United States into the hands of "Global" consensus, France, China, North Korea, and Russia and Germany. That's the first thing. The second thing is every bit as serious: the Supreme Court justices. The court will be remade in the next four to eight years. It will take us a generation to recover our Constitution from Kerry liberal anti-constitutionalism. Abortion is not the only issue here; the worst thing will be submission of our laws and constitution to the United Nations. Not only will Kerry put our defense into the hands of the United Nations, he will also put our law into the hands of the World Court. World law will rule American Constitutionalism. If we survive the war on terror, we will not survive the war on our laws and constitutionalism.

This election is the most important in three-quarters of a century. Get out and vote; get your friends out.
The Washington Times -- America's Newspaper: "Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry conceded yesterday that he probably will not be able to convince France and Germany to contribute troops to Iraq if he is elected president."
==========
Ain't that sumpin'? So now his campaign becomes "Elect me because.......???"
Polish President Calls Kerry 'Immoral,' Bush 'Gentleman' -- GOPUSA: "Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry was labeled 'immoral' by the president of Poland on Tuesday for failing to recognize his country's involvement with the coalition forces in the ongoing war in Iraq.

"Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, who sent 6,500 troops to assist the United States in the war in Iraq, said the Massachusetts senator's oblivious attitude about Poland's contributions to the efforts in Iraq is simply deplorable."
===========
But then, who cares what Poland thinks? They are not French.
ABCNEWS.com : Meeting Was Not First for Cheney, Edwards: "Vice President Dick Cheney said Tuesday night that the debate with Democratic Sen. John Edwards marked the first time they had met. In fact, the two had met at least three times previously. "
=========
Howcome? Howcome AP can get this story out overnight, but the report on Rathergate must wait until after the election. Does AP have fewer scruples about influencing an election? The hypcrisy of the mainstream is amazing.

What about Soros? There's a story for you. How spoiled rich men would buy an election and transform America into a playground for their lusts. Write that one, AP, and quit playing school yard games.

Yes. This is the real big story. Not Edward's absences. You can be sure that AP and the other totalitarian media will cast an eagle eye on everything Bush and Cheney say. Have they scrutinized the outrageous lies that Edwards made about Halliburton? Nope, and they won't.

The two times that AP says they met were NOT, I repeat NOT, at the US Senate, which was exactly the point Cheney was making.

The major media has simply become an outlet for the Democratic National Convention. Sort of a Democratic bulletin board. Swift response to every Republican point--complete silence on outrageous lies from the Democrats, unless they are dragged kicking and screaming like Dan Rather.
Judge Rejects Louisiana's Amendment Banning Same-Sex Marriage: "A state judge Tuesday threw out a Louisiana constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage that voters overwhelmingly approved on Sept. 18.

Judge William Morvant said the amendment was flawed as drawn up by the Legislature because it had more than one purpose: banning not only same-sex marriage but also civil unions. "
--------------
This shows the corruption of our court system, a corruption that will become more deep if Kerry gets to pick the next four Supreme Court Justices. On the grounds of having more than one purpose any provision or initiative can be thrown out by any court whatsoever. This priniciple is an assault upon our liberties--in the name of liberty for sodomites, would you believe?
Belmont Club: "The Fourth Infantry Division, at that time the most modern armored force in the Army, was not absent due to the 'Pig-headedness? Ignorance? Hubris?' of Donald Rumsfeld. It was missing directly as a result of the machinations of those supposed to administer Kerry's Global Test to America in the United Nations, who were large part responsible for closing Turkey to the United States. To continue Sullivan's quote: 'Why doesn't Edwards bring that up directly tonight with Cheney?' Cheney should. And to Sullivan's question: 'since it was so obvious so soon, why didn't the administration do anything to change that policy once its failings had become so glaring?' one might answer that it did, re-embarking the 4ID and sailing it a total of 1/5th of the way around the world into congested ports which had never planned to receive them, before marching it 600 kilometers up to Baghdad."
-----------
So the Washington Post has lied again. This time about Paul Bremer's remarks, and the reason for a temporary shortage of troops. It was because of the Kerry doctrine of "global test." Saddam would still be in power; the corrupt and fascist UN would still be getting and spending money from the Oil for Food Program, and Saddam would have WMD and perhaps using them against a US that couldn't find the will to defend itself because of Kerryesque doctrines. Maybe we could find a good tort lawyer to sue them on behalf of the little children--and put the money in his pocket.

Power Line: More Poll Follies: "The poll's internals are easily accessible--which is praiseworthy--so it takes only a moment to determine that the October poll sampled 34% Democrats and 29% Republicans, while the September poll sampled 33% Republicans and 31% Democrats. So it's hardly a surprise that Kerry did better in the October survey. If the pollsters sampled only Democrats, they could show that Kerry was sweeping toward an unprecedented victory."

Roger L. Even what we know of Oil-for-Food right now... and there's undoubtedly a lot more to come... shows us that these same allies - notably the French, Russians and to a lesser extent the Germans - were, throughout the run-up to the War in Iraq, nothing but profiteers off Saddam. They were and to a great extent still are, as Orwell put it in an only slightly different context,'objectively pro-fascist.'"

We need a new set of alliances: those committed to liberty and the halt of terror and neo-fascism, which is another name for godless, secular humanism.

Well, now. CBS certainly would NOT want to interfere with the election. Using forged documents to corrupt the election process is ok, but setting it right by cleaning out the viper nest--now that wouldn't be right, would it? Still wonder about bias?
Dennis Prager: Why I was evicted from a Miami hotel: "Of course, I knew they would refuse my offer. Threats of lawsuits now determine much of how Americans and their institutions behave. My theory. Because women get to vote and hold office, government has become much more maternal and protective. That translates into more meddling in private matters and lashing out at those who will 'hurt' the children. This results in more liability shark lawyers like John Edwards who will get rich using junk science so that they can run for vice president, while attacking companies like Haliburton. It is time for real men to take charge of government as God intended it and ordained it. Mama should take care of the kids and get out of politics. This is written with only a tiny bit of my tongue in my cheek.

DRUDGE REPORT 2004: "Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski has slammed Dem president hopeful John Kerry for not recognizing Poland's contributions and sacrifice to the war in Iraq.

"'It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience does not recognize Polish contribution. This is immoral,' Kwasniewski told FACTS in an interview commenting on the US Presidential Debate.

"'It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience underestimates Polish sacrifice, this is sad.'

"The Polish President added however that one should consider this was a part of the ongoing electoral campaign.

"'I do not think this was out of ignorance,' the president emphasized on the TVN Facts.

"'There is one thing which should be stated clearly: this coalition is not just the United States, Great Britain, Australia alone; it also involves participation of Polish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Spanish soldiers who have died. It is immoral not to recognize the involvement we contributed based on our conviction that there should be unity in fighting terrorism, that there was a need to display international solidarity and that Saddam Hussein was a dangerous individual of this world.' "Some 97 countries, including the entire European Union, have ratified the 1998 statute creating the court. The last three nations to ratify two weeks ago were Burundi, Liberia and Guyana.

DeToqueville said that Democratic leaders would not commit the great crimes against their countries that hereditary rulers would, but they would be more subject to selling out the interests of their country to other nations. An hereditary ruler looks on the land as his land; democratic rulers do not. Interesting.

But you say, campaign contributions from foreign nations are illegal? That didn't stop Clinton's campaign from getting Chinese contributions now, did it?
Exclusive: Saddam Possessed WMD, Had Extensive Terror Ties -- 10/04/2004: "(CNSNews.com) - Iraqi intelligence documents, confiscated by U.S. forces and obtained by CNSNews.com, show numerous efforts by Saddam Hussein's regime to work with some of the world's most notorious terror organizations, including al Qaeda, to target Americans. They demonstrate that Saddam's government possessed mustard gas and anthrax, both considered weapons of mass destruction, in the summer of 2000, during the period in which United Nations weapons inspectors were not present in Iraq. And the papers show that Iraq trained dozens of terrorists inside its borders."

Washington Post:

And so for the past few months it has become common wisdom that the war in Iraq is lost, based on what any historian will tell you is far too little evidence to make such a final judgment. Not only that, but the entire approach to foreign policy that has been called the "Bush doctrine" is, therefore, finished. Another fine Post reporter, Robin Wright, wrote at the end of June that the Iraq war had undermined or discredited the four central planks of President Bush's foreign policy: preemptive action to "prevent strikes on U.S. targets"; a willingness "to act unilaterally, alone or with a select coalition, when the United Nations or allies balk"; a policy to promote democratic reform in the Middle East, sparked by democratic progress in Iraq; and Iraq as "the next cornerstone in the global war on terrorism." I'm not sure what the last one means exactly, so I'll give it to her. As for the other three, is it really likely that they are dead as principles of U.S. foreign policy?

Democracy promotion? This may come as a shock to many people, but George W. Bush didn't exactly invent the idea that the United States should promote democracy abroad. It wasn't even original with Woodrow Wilson. Anyone looking at the broad sweep of American history would have to say that urging democracy upon other nations, often after invasions undertaken for other purposes, is more the norm than the exception.

No, Jennings had admitted that he does not like the United States and hasn't since his childhood. To have this man as anchor on one of the nations most influential new programs is silly and absurd, and the public ought to turn him off off off off off off....
Politics Blog / The Washington Times INSIDER: "Well, the post-debate polling by Gallup gave us the answer Friday morning: When viewers were asked who could better handle the war in Iraq, Bush led Kerry by 54 percent to 43 percent. As to who is more trustworthy to handle the responsibilities of commander in chief of the military, Mr. Bush came out ahead again, 54 percent to 44 percent?

"In one of the most memorable remarks in the debate, Mr. Bush said, 'You can't lead troops in the war on terror if you keep changing your position on the war on terror.' That pretty much sums up Mr. Kerry's inherent weakness on the most paramount national security issue in this election. "

This is the liberal attack of last resort: accuse your enemy of doing what you got caught doing. I don't think the White House has used any forged documents to try to destroy Dan Rather. But this is pure, unadulterated liberal wickedness. Liberal racism accuses their enemies of being racist, although conservatives are trying to get minorities off the liberal plantation. Liberals who daily transgress the Ten Commandments erect a new standard of morality [environmentalism, abortion, queer rights, etc], and then accuse their opponents of immorality. You use forged documents to try to corrupt the electoral process and Kerry water for the Democratic campaign, get caught, and accuse the President whom you hate of being out to get you.
