Dems say again: Terrorism? What terrorism?=The Hill.com=: "Good questions. And Democrats might want to consider whether they want a president who will respond forcefully to terrorist attacks or whether they want a president who will respond to attacks by turning things over to Janet Reno to investigate."
---
Very good questions. Read the whole article.
Telegraph | Opinion | Hearts and minds are being lost: "How did the American and British governments lose the battle of hearts and minds? How can Terry Waite get away with saying that the Americans are as bad as his Beirut kidnappers? Any attempt by either government to protect its citizens from further terrorist attacks or to try to foil potential suicide bombers is now seen as Draconian."
-----
In the first place, it isn't lost. Watch what happens after the Spain tragedy sinks in. See what happens if there is another major attack in the U. S.

But if it were lost, you can be sure that the lib press will blame everyone but itself. How did people know what Terry Waite said? For me, I don't think he has any more sense than John Kerry. There are a lot of fools who have suffered tragedy in their lives. Suffering doesn't equate with understanding or knowledge. But it does sell papers, and that is why the press prostitutes itself. Why did the press quote him and not American patriots who lost sons and daughters in Iraq, and still support the war on terror. Selective reporting is what is destroying the credibility of the public press in England and in America, but truth is the daughter of time. Click here
New York Post Online Edition: postopinion: "If anyone doubts that the War on Terror is global or that it's a struggle between civilization and barbarity, yesterday gave further proof that we have no choice but to fight with all our resources.
Why strike Spain? The letter from the 'Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri' reportedly said: 'This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America's ally in its war against Islam.' "
--------
And yes, Spain is a Christian, though catholic, nation. Does anyone really doubt that this is a religious war? If not, then Islamic leaders all over the world need to speak up, and Islamic nations need to take concrete action. Libya has set an example for all to follow.

Internet blamed in spread of syphilis among gays: "The Internet has played a significant role in the latest increase in cases of syphilis among gay men by introducing partners more likely to practice high-risk sex, according to a study released on Wednesday. "
----
Aha! Those who smoke and those who eat at McDonalds are not responsible for their cancers or overweight. So sodomites are not responsible for their STD's either. Sell you internet stocks, the trial lawyers are coming.

When Europeans Were Slaves: Research Suggests White Slavery Was Much More Common Than Previously Believed: "Most other accounts of slavery along the Barbary coast didn't try to estimate the number of slaves, or only looked at the number of slaves in particular cities, Davis said. Most previously estimated slave counts have thus tended to be in the thousands, or at most in the tens of thousands. Davis, by contrast, has calculated that between 1 million and 1.25 million European Christians were captured and forced to work in North Africa from the 16th to 18th centuries."
-------
Slavery is a sin not unique to the white races [note the plural], nor to the Christian religion. It has been a human failing, just like hatred, greed, lust, and other wickedness. Who is lobbying for Africa to pay reparations to Europe? Hmmmm. Is because of whom is perceived to have the deep pockets? Islam is an economic failure, so Muslim states cannot be expected to pay. The heritage of Western Europe, however, is one of financial success. Sooo...greed goes where the money is.
Hollywoodreporter.com: "With about $214 million in hand through last weekend, there's no question 'Passion,' which Gibson made through his and Bruce Davey's Icon Productions, will gross north of $300 million in domestic theaters. In fact, for several reasons it seems quite likely to reach $350-400 million. "
----
That's just the down payment. Looks as if Gibson will make some five hundred million for himself after all expenses are paid. Just like the silversmiths of Diana of the Ephesians, making images of spiritual realities is very profitable. Gibson has it high spades over the silversmiths, however, because of the hi-tech and mass marketting.

Just musing.

FOXNews.com - Top Stories - Study: Obesity Nearly as Deadly as Tobacco: "Inactive Americans are eating themselves to death at an alarming rate, their unhealthy habits fast approaching tobacco as the top underlying preventable cause of death, a government study found."

"It's going to overtake tobacco" if the trend continues, Gerberding said. "At CDC, we're going to do everything we can to prevent it," she said. "Obesity has got to be job No. 1 for us in terms of chronic diseases."
--------
Now that it has been established that those who smoke tobacco are not responsible for their diseases, it will be apparent to trial lawyers that those who eat are not responsible for their weight. Sell you fast food stocks, beef stocks, and buy seaweed and bamboo shoot stocks.

Oh yes, and we believe in free will, don't we? But cheer up, the CDC is "going to do everything we can to prevent it," according to Gerberding. Does "everything" mean telling us what to eat and not eat? Does it mean higher taxes on fast food? Does it mean suits against McDonalds and Wendys? Don't bet on it. Buy the bamboo.

What are the scariest words in the English language? You don't know? Here they are: "We are from the government and are here to help you."
John Leo: Not wedded to the law: "Even California bureaucrats who visit the city for only an hour or two are apt to contract SFD [San Francisco Disease] and go around marrying gay couples or applying racial quotas, though state law explicitly forbids both. In California, voters approved propositions on these issues, and such propositions trump everything, even votes in the Legislature. But once the fever of SFD descends, officials listlessly lose interest in laws that conflict with their personal beliefs."
----
But there is no absolute truth. The Bible doesn't mean what it says and certainly cannot be binding on us. Neither is the Constitution. And mothers and fathers? You have to be kidding. The only absolute the modern world knows is the truth of its desires. Kids learn early that if they throw a tizzy fit, parents will cave in, principles will run scared, and politicians will launch an investigation. Uncivil civil disobedience will get you where you want in a hurry, baby. What does the law matter? Even Supreme Courts snuff the constitution in order to find abortion rights and other absurdities. Words don't mean nuttin, baby, when I want to do what I want to do. These babies are still complaining about the Bush election, legal though it was. The law doesn't matter, and hasn't for a long time, except for those who make themselves nuisances.
NewsMax.com: Inside Cover Story: "Secretary of State Colin Powell said Monday that unduly harsh political attacks from likely Democratic nominee John Kerry are undermining the morale of U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan."
---
So what do we expect from this guy. This has been what he has been about all his life: he knifed his buddies from Viet Nam, embraced Jane Fonda, and has made his living by sucking up to the anti-war, chicken-hearted pacifist left, who thinks that if you are good enough to skunks, they will begin to smell better. This guy would make Jimmy Carter appear like a hawk.

NewsMax.com: Inside Cover Story: "But in 1997, Kerry praised President Clinton for preparing to attack Iraq by deploying ships, aircraft and troops over the objections of France and Russia. "

Aha! But he wants to be president now.
BBC NEWS | UK | Twitchers watch robin served rare: "Birdwatchers from all over Britain who gathered in Grimsby to catch sight of a rare American robin were horrified to see her eaten by a passing sparrowhawk. "
----
This is absolutely outrageous! I cannot understand why the candidates for president do not have a plan for controlling the actions of animals who don't have any regard for each other. There must be something to do. Even if it results only in the life of one rare American robin, it would be worth whatever it takes. Robins have rights, too, you know. It is outrageous that a ferocious sparrowhawk would be allowed to roam free by the Brits, thinking only of its own desires. One robin's loss diminishes us all, and it should not be tolerated.

Something must be done to keep our robins from being blown across the sea and eaten by the British barbarians. If the Brits cannot guarantee the safety of our robins, then their immigration clearly must be limited. If we can go to the moon, why cannot be protect the most defenseless among us?
Yahoo! News - 7,000 Orange County Voters Were Given Bad Ballots: "Poll workers struggling with a new electronic voting system in last week's election gave thousands of Orange County voters the wrong ballots, according to a Times analysis of election records. In 21 precincts where the problem was most acute, there were more ballots cast than registered voters. "

Would you bet the rent that the next presidential election would not be contested in the courts?
California lawmakers propose lowering voting age to 14 for state elections: "A proposed amendment to California's constitution would give 16-year-olds a half-vote and 14-year-olds a quarter-vote in state elections.
State Sen. John Vasconcellos, among four lawmakers to propose the idea on Monday, said the Internet, cellular phones, multichannel television and a diverse society makes today's teens better informed than their predecessors. "
----
Sure, why not? Information is all that counts. 14 and 16 year olds have more knowledge of sexual matters than ever before, and they make wonderful decisions, don't they?

Yahoo! News - Kerry to Stay on Top of Florida Vote: "The 2000 recount looms large in nearly any political discourse in Florida. George W. Bush won the presidency by one electoral vote when a 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court ended a recount in the state."
-----
They [Here it is Yahoo news] just lie and lie and lie. Bush won every recount in Florida, even those counted by the news media and every other organization after the Supreme Court ended illegal practices and unending appeals. Bush was elected fairly and squarely. But if you keep lying enough, some idiots will believe it.

FOXNews.com - Politics - Bush Wins Points With the Abstinence-Minded: "WASHINGTON - Safe-sex educators are rankled by President Bush's proposal to increase abstinence instruction funding next year, but proponents of the just-say-no approach argue teens will get a fighting chance against unwed pregnancy, sexually-transmitted diseases and for healthy future relationships."
---
Hey, mustn't teach children to control their behavior and get their bodies under control. That is very Christian behavior and we mustn't have that, must we?
My Way News: "John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting, challenged the Bush administration Saturday to reimburse the families of U.S. troops 'who had to buy the body armor' needed for protection in Iraq."
----
Where is the protest that Kerry is exploiting the war for political purposes? But of course, he learned how to do that after Viet Nam with his buddy Jane Fonda.
Excite News: "Kerry, who is moving to challenge Bush on that front, said the public deserves an answer as soon as possible about what went wrong leading up to the attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania."
-----
Where is the outrage of 9/11 families against Kerry for expoiting 9/11? Why don't the liberal talking heads trot out their 9/11 shills to protest Kerry, like they did Bush last week? You, of course, know the reason.
