Evidence of Things not Seen

Faith is the "evidence of things not seen." Heb. 11:1. Like God, faith is invisible but is
powerful. It cannot be produced by human argument or logic, but comes only by the
promises of God in His word. How it comes no one can know, but Scripture says it is
the gift of God. It is the very substance of things hoped for, the things that God has
promised that no man could dream of, that no man could see, and that never could have
entered into the hearts of man. It is wholly supernatural and arises by the power of God
Himself.

This is the reason no government or power on earth can quench faith, for faith is the
victory that overcomes the world. Tyrants smash themselves to pieces on the rock of
faith and liars are exposed by faith and unbelievers drop into a bottomless pit of ruin
and despair.

Atheists scoff and unbelievers pretend to believe and wicked souls profess to believe
lies and hollow people seek to vain and empty gods that are no gods. The first
judgments of God are the darkening of the souls and minds of those who do not
believe.

But faith is the very substance of the hopes that arise because of God's promises and is
the certain evidence of the things not seen as yet, but will surely become the inheritance
of those who have been taught of the Father, Who cannot lie. Faith is the light of God
in the soul by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2Co 4:6 "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in
our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus
Christ."

1Ch 29:11 "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the
victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is
the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."
