Loose cannons undermining Kerry: "High-level Democrats, including some inside the Kerry campaign, were appalled by this week's political sideshow. Just as John Kerry began finding his voice on Iraq, he was in danger of being drowned out by Democratic operatives Joe Lockhart and Terry McAuliffe. But the Democratic presidential candidate had only himself to blame."

This is the triumph of Lockhart and McAulliffe, who are setting the stage for Hillary in 2008. This first act is to make sure that Kerry doesn't win in 2004. The addition of the Clinton partisans to Kerry's campaign was the beginning of the end for his campaign.
