DeToqueville said that Democratic leaders would not commit the great crimes against their countries that hereditary rulers would, but they would be more subject to selling out the interests of their country to other nations. An hereditary ruler looks on the land as his land; democratic rulers do not. Interesting.

But you say, campaign contributions from foreign nations are illegal? That didn't stop Clinton's campaign from getting Chinese contributions now, did it?
